Alm

Misty alps in the morning sun

The story of Alm

Wild blonde ale with forgotten herbs

A springtime hike in the mountains, descending into a fragrant alpine meadow with foggy patches, where herbs fill the air with fresh, floral scents. Cool, clean mountain air fills your lungs, everything around you breathes purity. In the valley you can hear the echo of a simpler life, close to nature, close to our hearts. Here we will find what we lost. Cool, pure mountain air fills your lungs, everything exudes purity. In the valley there is the echo of a simpler life, close to nature, close to our hearts. Here we find back what we have lost.

Alm is a dry, mildly bitter beer with ‘forgotten herbs’, the kind that are rarely used nowadays. A pity, because they often have wonderful, faintly familiar aromas that we love to exhibit in our beers. Annual mugwort gives fresh, soft notes of citrus and young grass. Our wild house culture creates a classic character that pairs well with the clean biscuit maltiness of locally grown heirloom grains. Alm won a gold medal at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2019 in the category “Innovation/special – less than 6% ABV”. A shame, because they often have wonderful aromas that we like to let shine in our beer. Annual mugwort gives soft, refreshing notes of citrus and young grass. The spicy Belgian edge of our wild house yeast goes well with the biscuit-like maltiness of the beer.

Alm has won the gold medal at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2019 in the category “Innovation / special – less than 6% ABV”.
